There is a difference between Cleaning Carpets and Cleaning Rugs

Have you shampooed your rug and been disappointed with the result? General shampooing can leave rugs looking dull, similar to machine-washing a delicate silk shirt or cashmere sweater.

A rug is often unique, perhaps hand made, consisting of special fine fibres and dyes. It may be primarily silk or wool - and wool used in rugs can be very different from loom wool carpets.

With care, a genuine hand-knotted Oriental rug will last a long time if protected from avoidable damage. Common problems include spilled liquids, pet stains/chewing/scratching, vacuum cleaner damage, chemical treatments, sun bleaching and general wear if they are placed in family traffic routes. Gentle frequent vacuuming (both sides) should keep dirt damage to a minimum.

Homecare has more than 20 years' experience in Oriental rug cleaning. Your rug will be cleaned with the utmost care and most suitable method for its fibres, type of dyes and age to give you the best possible results, helping to maintain their beautiful looks and vibrant colours for years to come.
